University’s Online Graduate Programs Lead National Ranking for Student Engagement

When it comes to “Teaching Practices and Student Engagement,” The University of Scranton ranked No. 1 nationally for online MBA programs and rank No. 2 nationally for online graduate education programs, according to a new ranking of online degree programs published Tuesday, Jan. 10, by U.S. News & World Report. The new rankings looked at online graduate degree programs in business, education, engineering, nursing and computer information technology offered by both nonprofit and for-profit institutions.

Research Study Ranks Antioxidant Value of Nuts: Walnuts Top List

A new study by University of Scranton Chemistry Professor Joe Vinson, Ph.D., published in The Royal Society of Chemistry’s journal Food and Function online on Dec. 21, 2011, shows nuts pack a healthy punch and ranks walnuts at the top for having both more healthful antioxidants, called polyphenols, and a higher antioxidant potency than the other nuts analyzed.

Nursing Graduates Exceed National and State Pass Rates for License Exam

University of Scranton nursing program graduates once again have exceeded the National Council Licensure Examination average pass rates at the state and national levels for first-time test-takers between Oct. 1, 2010, and Sept. 30, 2011, which is the most current data available concerning the University’s Class of 2011.
