Caitlin Doughton 

Caitlin Doughton is a current freshman who will be running for a seat on the University of Scranton’s Student Government Senate. Academically, Caitlin has majors in Biology and Philosophy, a minor in Latin, is on the Pre-Med track, and is a member of SJLA. This past year, Caitlin served as a Class of 2024 Senator. She was on the Safety, Justice, and Service committee and was the student liaison for the Jane Kopas Women’s Center. Caitlin is also a member of the Health Professions Organization and AFYA Club. She is employed as a writing consultant in CTLE and as a medical scribe at Geisinger. Despite being a Scranton native, Caitlin resides in Driscoll Hall! You may be wondering why Caitlin is running for Senate. She possesses a strong passion for not only sharing her own voice, but also representing the voices of those around her. Caitlin confidently advocates for topics of concern, big or small. With a history of being an active member in her Jesuit high school, through endeavors as Student Council Representative, Medical Club President, and Football Cheerleading Captain, Caitlin finds it imperative to continue her leadership skills at Scranton. Due to the current uncertainty of the world, the Spring 2021 elections are unique when compared to those in years past. Although many aspects of the upcoming school year cannot be assured, Caitlin undoubtedly pledges one thing: She will represent ALL members of the Class of 2024 with utmost enthusiasm and effort.
