Thomas Elias

Class of 2024

Thomas Elias

Thomas is running for Student Senate because he believes in the voice of the student body, and wishes to enact positive change as a direct advocate for all students. Thomas is a first-year Physics and Philosophy double major in the SJLA honors program and is from Tunkhannock, PA. As a Class of 2024 Senator for the 2020-2021 school year, Thomas was a member of the Academic and Scholastic Affairs Committee where he corresponded with several departments and deans, such as PCPS and the Office of Global Education; here, he offered assistance and communicated student interests focusing on student mental health and general strain during the semester as well as increasing student opportunities for upcoming semesters. He hopes to continue voicing student concerns and always remains open to feedback. Thomas is also working on projects promoting diversity and inclusion to ensure that our campus community remains so for all students. Outside of the classroom, he has had the opportunity to get involved in a research project in the Physics department, We Care Wednesdays through CSSJ, Astronomy Club, Philosophy Society, and Intramural Volleyball. Thomas also works as a Tour Guide in admissions and enjoys playing the saxophone, hiking, kayaking, and hanging out with friends. Thomas is looking forward to continuing his efforts and cultivating his position in the coming school year.
