Dr. Christopher Fremaux is an Assistant Professor in the Philosophy department. He received his B.A. from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX with a double major in Philosophy and Theology (2009), his M.A. from Boston College (2012), and his Ph.D. from the State University of New York, Stony Brook (2020), during which time he spent a year as a Max Kade research fellow at Universität Trier, Germany (2017-2018).
Research and Teaching
Dr. Fremaux’s research focuses on early modern philosophy (17th and 18th century), especially Kant and his predecessors in the German philosophical tradition. In addition to Introduction to Philosophy and Ethics, Dr. Fremaux teaches courses in early modern philosophy, Kant, and political philosophy.
