Amy Szydlowski is a faculty specialist in the Department of Health Administration and Human Resources at the University of Scranton. Amy was an adjunct faculty member in the Health Administration Department at the University of Scranton since 2006 before her full-time appointment. Amy received a master’s degree in both Social Work and Public Administration with a certification in Gerontology from Marywood University.
Before her faculty appointment, Amy served as the District Executive Director for the Department of Health in Northeastern Pennsylvania for 10.5 years. During her tenure with the Department of Health, she was dedicated to improving and maintaining the health of Pennsylvanians who reside in the Commonwealth. Amy’s leadership and relationship-building skills have led to the development and implementation of many public health program goals and objectives.
In addition to her employment at the Department of Health, Amy worked at both Janssen Pharmaceutical and Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company as a Professional Health Care Representative for 11 years combined. During her tenure she introduced both marketed and new medications to physicians, providing education and efficiently illustrating the benefit of each drug.
She has received many accolades throughout her career which include being named the recipient of the Walton Medal for excellence in Public Administration, District Representative of the Year for Janssen Pharmaceutical, and has been recognized for her service as an Ambassador Board member at the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute. Amy is a community member of the Regional Hospital of Scranton’s Patient Safety Committee and serves as a board member for the Dunmore Senior Center.
