 EXCELLENCE IN SCHOLARLY PUBLICATION

 In light of the University’s goal of promoting faculty scholarship, the University is pleased to recognize the special efforts of faculty who strive for, and have attained, distinction in scholarship and creative activity. This year’s recipient is Dr. Jinghan Cai.

Dr. Cai is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics, Finance, and International Business.

Dr. Cai joined the University in 2014, after earning his Ph.D. in Finance from City University of Hong Kong and a second Ph.D. in Economics from Boston College.

Dr. Cai’s work has been published in top-tiered, global, academic journals including Review of Financial Studies, Global Financial Journal, and Finance Research Letters. Since coming to the University, he has published ten peer-reviewed papers.

He is the co-author of a book entitled, “The Market Impact of Short Selling.” Dr. Cai has presented his work at numerous international conferences as well. As a result of the far-reaching nature of his work, Dr. Cai collaborates with researchers and colleagues from around the globe, and has given invited presentations at universities in China, Japan, Singapore, and Malaysia.

In 2020, Dr. Cai was the recipient of the KSOM Faculty Scholarship Award. He has also been the recipient of several internal Faculty Research Grants.
