Riddhiman Medhi, Ph.D.

Riddhiman Medhi, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry.  Dr. Medhi received a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemistry from Gauhati University, Guwahati, India and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Houston, Houston, TX.  He has been serving as a Postdoctoral Associate at Cornell University in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering since 2020.  Dr. Medhi has developed anti-fouling surface coatings and anti-toxin fabrics; synthesis and characterization of block and random copolymers utilizing anionic and ATRP polymerization; specific study of polystyrene, PDMS, PEG, PEO, and perfluoro polymers; study of hydrophilic, hydrophobic, fluorinated, redox-active, and zwitterionic functionalities in polymer coatings; chemical and microscopic characterization of polymer surfaces using atomic force microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, chromatography, differential scanning calorimetry, nuclear magnetic resonance, ellipsometry, profilometry, confocal microscopy, contact angle goniometry.
