Bibi Khan Ph.D.

Bibi Khan, Ph.D. was named Assistant Professor in the Biology Department. She received a B.Sc. in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Guyana in her home country, where she taught for two years as an assistant lecturer after graduating. In 2004, she was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to pursue graduate studies in the United States. She received a M.Sc. in Molecular Plant Pathology from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville and a Ph.D. in Cell & Molecular Biology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. In 2012, she joined the Noble Research Institute in Ardmore, Oklahoma as a postdoctoral associate. She returned to the University of Guyana in 2017 where she taught courses such as Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, and Genetics. She has authored and co-authored several papers in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals and received two competitive research grants.
