Nicole Hoskins, Ph.D.


Nicole Hoskins, Ph.D., was named Assistant Professor in the Theology/Religious Department.  She earned her Ph.D. from Drew University, her M.Div. from Harvard Divinity School, and her Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies from Spelman College. She received numerous fellowships to support her graduate research and is a member of the Society for the Study of Black Religion. Her current research project examines the religious and ecological practices of black women in Altgeld Gardens, Chicago, IL--an area sociologists identify as one of the most egregious cases of environmental racism in the U.S. She is author of the forthcoming book chapter, “The Weathering Affects of Antiblackness as Climate.”
