Hossein Banitabaei, Ph.D.

Hossein Banitabaei, Ph.D. was named Assistant Professor in the Physics/Engineering Department.  He received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from York University in Toronto. His dissertation was focused on the impact of a droplet onto curved surfaces of varying wettabilities. Later, he joined BC Research Inc. in Vancouver for a joint postdoctoral fellowship with the University of British Columbia where he worked on a project to develop a gel used for oil containment in large oil spill incidents. Dr. Banitabaei’s research field is fluid dynamics and interfacial phenomena utilizing experimental techniques and numerical simulation methods.
