Dr. Subasic’s clinical background is medical-surgical nursing. Her primary interest is the application of genetic and genomic content in nursing education and within the clinical setting. She has conducted qualitative research regarding hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Her participation in the Summer Genetics Institute served as a platform for the clinical application of genomic research. Dr. Subasic has publications in the following journals: Nursing Clinics of North America: Genomics,  Journal of Nursing Scholarship,  Journal of School Nursing, Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, and Nursing Education Perspectives. She has contributed to book chapters regarding medical-surgical nursing and genomics in nursing education. Dr. Subasic is an active participant in the International Society of Nurses in Genetics (ISONG). She has accepted leadership roles within this organization, specifically serving as the 2015 and the 2016 annual conference co-chair.
