Dr. Walker was a former critical care and trauma nurse and is an ANCC certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a background in nephrology, internal medicine, and primary care. Currently, she practices as an NP at Student Health Services and volunteers at the Edward Leahy Clinic for the Uninsured as well as the Care and Concern Clinic in Pittston. 

Dr. Walker teaches courses in the undergraduate program, including pharmacology and physical health assessment, and serves as a medical-surgical clinical instructor for junior and senior students.  She completed her doctoral education in 2020 with a focus in nursing education, where her research involved therapeutic interaction with certified therapy dogs to reduce baccalaureate nursing student test anxiety.
