What is edTPA?
edTPA is the assessment and support system designed to provide evidence to states and educator preparation programs that their teaching candidates are ready to teach.
Because many states are adopting edTPA as a certification requirement, the University has integrated edTPA into the student teaching experience. Spring 2015 was the first semester in which it was used.
This is NOT nationally mandated at this point, but states do vary in their level of participation. Here is a list of states that use edTPA as a part of their certification requirements.
