February 3 through March 10, 2023

Travis Prince. Frances Cress Welsing. Oil on canvas. 2016.

Prince is a self-taught portrait artist from South Carolina who currently resides in Scranton, Pennsylvania. A focus on education, social issues, and relationships within the black community is at the forefront of his work. His medium of choice is oil paint, although he is not afraid to incorporate inks, spray paints, and other materials into his craft. Produced in conjunction with the University of Scranton Multicultural Center, this show is supported in part by a University of Scranton Diversity Initiatives Grant, the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Humanities as part of the Scranton's Story/Our Nation's Story project.
