More Than a Master's Degree

The Department of Education is committed to preparing informed, inquiring and skilled professionals who, as scholars and decision-makers, are ready to take their place as leaders improving the educational community.

The University is currently offering two on-campus education master's degree programs:

Secondary Education, MS
The Secondary Education program offers courses and fieldwork for students seeking an initial Pennsylvania Instructional I certificate, grades 7-12, in a specific academic area. The Master of Science in Secondary Education degree requires 34 credits in course work.

Special Education, MS
Students can enter the Special Education program in a course of study leading to PreK- 8 certification or in a course of study leading to 7- 12 certification. Both pathways require 36 credit hours of coursework and include an internship.
