Dr. Duane Armitage is an assistant professor in the Philosophy department. He earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy at The University of Scranton (2005), a master’s in philosophy at Boston College (2007), and a Ph.D. in philosophy at the New School for Social Research (2012). He joined the faculty at Scranton in 2015, after teaching at Gonzaga University in philosophy from 2013-2015. He the author of two recent monographs, "Heidegger's Pauline and Lutheran Roots" (2016) and "Heidegger and the Death of God" (2017). His research, focusing on Martin Heidegger and Soren Kierkegaard, has also been published in multiple professional journals.
