Highlights: Student Research
Our students are involved in numerous research endeavors that range from current laboratory work, to summer research projects.
Every summer, we give the Neuroscience Summer Research Fellowship Award. For this award, students from the Neuroscience major can submit a research proposal in March-April. Awards provides the students with a stipend for summer research, $500 for research supplies or travel, and a free dorm room. A committee of Neuroscience faculty not directly involved in the projects review the applications and decides on the awardee. See the list of our awardees here.
In addition to our in-house award, many of our students opt to participate in off-campus summer research programs that are typically funded internships. See this list of recent awardees here.
Every year, one of our graduating seniors is given the Neuroscience Excellence Award. This is given to the student who demonstrates Neuroscience academic excellence, engages in research, performs service to Neuroscience either intramurally or extramurally, and who engages in other research or service activities.
