Why you think students should get involved in leadership development: I believe students should get involved in leadership development because personal growth is a lifelong process and it is important to always be striving to improve yourself no matter your age. Through developing leadership skills, qualities become refined and advanced in students that are important when entering the work force.  Leadership serves as a stepping stone to becoming a marketable employee in the business world. Leadership also helps teach important interpersonal skills, such as how to interact and motivate different types of people.

Piece of advice to students who want to get involved: Apply for as many opportunities as you can, even if you believe you are not qualified.  All you need is one person to take a chance on you in order for a whole world of opportunities to open up.

Class Year: 2018
Major: Counseling and Human Services
Hometown: Little Ferry, NJ

Favorite Leadership Quote: “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more. You are a leader.” – John Quincy Adams

Why you think students should get involved in leadership development: Leadership is not confined to cubicle or workplace; leadership is an everyday opportunity and happens in every aspect of our daily lives. Developing your leadership skills will not only help you to grow professionally, but it will help develop you into the best kind of friend, coworker, and overall person that you can be.

Piece of advice to students who want to get involved: Find a club that interests you or get out of your comfort zone and join something you never thought you could do. Whatever you want to do, just go out and try it out. You don’t want to look back on these years and regret not taking any chances.
