Who are Royal Leadership Consultants?
Royal Leadership Consultants (RLC) are dynamic, energetic students who possess the ability to engage actively with their peers in learning settings. These individuals have a variety of personal experiences and leadership training to draw upon as they work with other students to develop interactive and educational retreats tailored to the needs of their respective organization. Additionally, RLCs receive ongoing leadership training within a team-based environment in order to enhance their effectiveness as consultants. Most importantly, the RLCs are committed to assisting their fellow student leaders in achieving their personal and organizational goals!
What do RLCs do for Clubs/Organizations?
Representatives from RLC serve as liaisons for the various student clubs/organizations on campus. Royal Leadership Consultants assist student clubs/organizations in achieving their personal and organizational goals, and they will work to develop customized retreats that match a club/organization’s needs. Possible topics include: recruitment, retention, delegation, motivation, leadership styles, communication, team building, event planning, etc. Clubs/organizations simply request a leadership workshop, at a time that is convenient for them, and a representative from RLC will arrange the details and present.
Trainings and topics this past year for clubs/organizations included:
- Leadership: Engagement vs. Involvement
- Set Your Club on Fire: Keeping Your Club Proactive
- Beyond the Icebreaker: Building an Effective Team
- The Dynamics of Delegation
- Do You Have "IT": Using Technology to Market Your Organization
- So You're a New Officer, Now What?
What do RLCs do for Student Leaders?
Representatives from RLC will also assist in the peer-to-peer consulting of leadership opportunities at The University of Scranton. This comprises events offered through The Center for Student Engagement, the University, and greater Scranton community. This close interaction will allow for tremendous leadership growth between the RLC and the student, and develop mentoring opportunities.
