Careers in Student Affairs Webinar presented by the National Association for Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) on Wednesday, October 5 from 4-5PM.  The event will be held in DeNaples 213.  Light refreshments will be served.  

Can I Really Do This For a Living? Yes you can! Join NASPA for a webinar to kick-off National Careers in Student Affairs Month. During this hour-long webinar, panelists will share their journeys through the profession and provide information on how you might begin yours. You'll even have the opportunity to ask questions to learn more about a career in student affairs! The panelists include:

"Success From The Start: Graduate Students & New Professionals"

 Thursday, October 13 from 3:00-4:00PM

Careers in Student Affairs Webinar presented by the National Association for Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) on Thursday, October 13 from 3:00-4:00PM.  The event will be held in DeNaples 213.  Light refreshments will be served. 

In this webinar, the presenters will focus on what a successful transition from graduate school to a professional position looks like, as well as core competencies that all new professionals need and how to build them while they're working. Participants will then be invited to think about various topics related to transitions, as well as looking into professional development opportunities that meet individual needs.

 

Careers in Student Affairs Panel and Reception

Monday, October 24 from 5:00-6:30PM in DeNaples 405. 

Help us celebrate the National Careers in Student Affairs Month as our Student Affairs leaders engage in an interactive panel with eager student leaders who want our Student Affairs jobs! This program is open and encouraged for any undergraduates who would like to explore the Student Affairs profession.  Hors d'œuvre and beverages will be served.  This event will allow students to both formally and informally interact with Student Affairs Staff members and have ask questions about our positions, education, background, etc.  This is an event that you do not want to miss!

"Graduate School 101: From Application to Acceptance"

Careers in Student Affairs Webinar presented by the ACPA - College Student Educators International on Wednesday, October 26 from 1:00-2:30PM.  The event will be held in DeNaples 213.  Light breakfast refreshments will be served. 

Are you an undergraduate student interested in pursuing a graduate degree in student affairs? Are you a faculty or staff member who has students interested in the field of college student development? This Webcast is designed to provide an overview of navigating the graduate admissions process in student affairs. From deciding between a part-time versus full-time program to having a successful campus interview, a panel of faculty, staff, and current graduate students will share their expertise on graduate programs in student affairs.

 

Careers in Student Affairs Mini Conference

Friday, October 28

The Careers in Student Affairs Mini-Conference in at Rutgers University is on Friday, October 28, 2011.  The Division of Student Affairs is fully funding a group of students to attend the conference and learn more about Student Affairs.  Registration, transportation, and meals will all be provided.  Please let Michael Baumhardt, Assistant Director of the Center for Student Engagement, know if you are interested by Friday, October 14 at baumhardtm2@scranton.edu or X6233.
