Software Services

Information Technology Services is responsible for all day-to-day installations, maintenance, upgrades, general diagnostics, and troubleshooting of software, hardware, and peripherals to faculty, staff, lab and classroom computers at the University of Scranton.

Installation and Setup:  

As new or replacement systems are approved through the Central Microcomputer Budget for departments, IT Services will configure the computer and install all standard software applications listed below.  Additional software installations can be requested through the  Technology Support Center (TSC) at 941-HELP or emailing

Lab Facilities:

IT Services maintains all lab and classroom computers.  Systems are typically updated or replaced during the summer months.  Software updates and installations in lab and classroom facilities can be scheduled by opening a request with the TSC.  Software or applications needed for a specific class should be requested at least two weeks in advance.

General diagnostics and Troubleshooting:

IT Services will respond to end user's requests for software troubleshooting and repair. All University of Scranton faculty and staff can report issues via the TSC regarding any computer issue including e-mail, software, network connectivity, hardware, computing labs and related services.

Due to the large amount of software available to end users from different sources, IT Services will assign priority to software included in the Supported Software section below:
