Computer Maintenance Center

Computer Maintenance Center (CMC) technicians are both Dell and Apple certified to provide authorized hardware warranty repairs for University owned and student owned Dell’s and Macintosh computers.  In addition to hardware services, CMC provides computers for special events held on campus, assists with faculty and staff office/department moves, and maintains related peripheral devices.

Reporting Problems:

University of Scranton faculty and staff should report computer hardware or peripheral device problems by contacting the Technology Support Center (TSC) at 941-HELP or by emailing techsupport@scranton.edu.

Equipment Loans:

A temporary loaner computer may be requested (when available) by faculty or staff while their computer is being repaired if the system cannot be returned in a timely manner.  The loaner may not be the same type as the original equipment but every effort is made to provide equipment that will maintain productivity until the repair is completed.

Special Events:

Setup of computer hardware is available for special events by contacting the TSC at 941-HELP or by emailing techsupport@scranton.edu. Requests should be made at least two weeks prior to the event.  Detailed information on room layout, start and end times, and also earliest time the room is available for setup should be provided.  When considering where the computers are to be placed, please verify that power and network connections are easily accessible and close by.  When booking the location for the event,  a minimum of 2 hours before and one hour after the event for setup and breakdown of equipment is required.

Equipment Moves:

Requests for computer equipment moves should be made by contacting the TSC as far in advance as possible. CMC will assist with disconnecting the equipment prior to the movers arriving and reconnect the equipment when all furniture and equipment is at the new location.  Department should provide a priority list for which employees need to be reconnected first.
