Having secured the No. 2 seed in this week’s Landmark Conference playoffs, The University of Scranton men’s basketball team will host third-seeded Juniata in a Landmark Conference semifinal in the Long Center on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m.
The University’s Student Government and the Scranton Wolf Pack are promoting the event as a “White Out” contest, so make sure to attend, cheer on the Royals, and wear white! Click here to view the White Out Facebook event page.
The winner of Wednesday’s contest will play the winner of the other conference semifinal, featuring top-seeded Catholic hosting fourth-seeded Merchant Marine Academy. The winners will meet in the championship on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the home site of the highest remaining seed. (If Scranton and Merchant both win, Scranton hosts the championship. If Scranton and Catholic win, Catholic hosts the championship.)
In other playoff action, the University’s women’s basketball team clinched the No. 3 seed in this week’s Landmark Conference playoffs with a pair of victories last week.The Lady Royals will visit second-seeded Moravian in a Landmark Conference semifinal on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m. Top-seeded Catholic hosts fourth-seeded Juniata in the other semifinal. The winners meet in the championship on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the home site of the highest remaining seed.
