Nursing Students Provide Needed Screening to Underserved Children

Ten senior University of Scranton nursing students spent nearly a week in Newark, N.J., in January, providing health screenings to nearly 500 children. The nursing students went to North Star Academy, a charter public school in Newark and part of the Uncommon Schools system. Stephen Stark, a senior nursing major from Staten Island, N.Y., said that for many of the students at North Star Academy, this would be the only health screening they would receive for the year.

New York Trumpet Ensemble to Perform Gene Yevich Memorial Concert

The New York Trumpet Ensemble, directed by acclaimed trumpeter Mark Gould, will perform at the fourth annual Gene Yevich Memorial Concert on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in The University of Scranton’s Houlihan-McLean Center.
