The University of Scranton held a ceremony for the newly inducted Alpha Sigma Lambda (ASL) members on April 18 in The DeNaples Center. This honor society recognizes the academic excellence of part-time and full-time adult students.

Fifteen University of Scranton seniors participated in the American Advertising Federation’s National Students Advertising Competition as part of a six-credit, two-semester course taught by Communication professor Stacy Smulowitz, Ph.D. candidate.

Arrupe Award Presented to Universidad Centroamericana Professor

The University of Scranton recently presented its annual Pedro Arrupe, S.J., Award to Rev. Dean Brackley, S.J., professor at the Universidad Centroamericana in San Salvador, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Ignatian-inspired ministries in El Salvador.

Students Learn Something New at Fair Trade Fair

The third annual Fair Trade Vendor Fair, held in conjunction with Earth Week activities, featured a variety of vendors, lectures and activities on the Dionne Campus Green on April 23. The University of Scranton’s United Students for Fair Trade club hosts the fair annually to promote the purchase of fair trade goods.

Rent-A-Text Program Coming to University Bookstore

We are pleased to announce that the University of Scranton bookstore will begin offering textbook rental services this fall. Rent-A-Text will offer students upwards of 50 percent off the price of new textbooks and will provide students with an affordable alternative to rising education costs.
