Political Science Professor Receives Alpha Sigma Nu Teaching Award

William Joseph Parente, Ph.D., professor of political science at The University of Scranton, has been presented the 2010 Alpha Sigma Nu Teacher of the Year Award (formerly the Edward Gannon, S.J., Award for Teaching). It is the oldest teaching award at the Jesuit university, and one of just three teaching awards presented at Scranton each year.

The University of Scranton Announces Plans to Construct Residence Hall and Fitness Center on Mulberry Street

On Wednesday, May 5, 2010, The University of Scranton’s Board of Trustees approved the construction of a $33 million, 189,000-square-foot complex in the 900 block of Mulberry Street that will provide fitness space, a dining area and 400 apartment-style units for juniors and seniors.

Signs of Change

New directional signs are appearing on campus as part of a campus beautification project undertaken with the assistance of Ayers Saint Gross, the architectural firm that is designing the Mulberry Street Improvement Project and landscaping on Clay Avenue and Linden Street.
