On Saturday, February 22, 2014, The Center for Student Engagement at The University of Scranton will be hosting the fourth annual IGNITE Leadership Conference. During this half-day leadership conference, students from across campus and from surrounding institutions will come together to develop their leadership skills and network with fellow student leaders. Last year, over 180 students from institutions throughout Pennsylvania attended. Over the years, institution representation have included Baptist Bible College, Johnson College, Keystone College, King’s College, Lackawanna College, Luzerne County Community College, Marywood University, Penn State Hazelton, and Penn State Worthington-Scranton. This year we’re planning for the best IGNITE to date, and anticipate having an even greater number in attendance!
The purpose of the IGNITE - Leadership Conference is to encourage you to engage yourself in new experiences that challenge you to develop as a leader. The presentations, keynotes, and small group meetings will provide you with the tools you need to succeed as a leader. This is an opportunity to meet new people and learn from their experiences as well as share your own knowledge and experiences with others. Potential topics may include: Communication, Effective Decision Making, Social Media Management, Shopping for Graduate Schools, How to Develop Powerful Presentations, Motivation, Achieving Balance, Dealing with Difference, Multitasking and Self Awareness.
IGNITE is undoubtedly going to be an energizing and motivational conference for all student leaders. For students from surrounding colleges and universities, an all-inclusive low cost of $25 covers a light breakfast, full lunch, and afternoon snack break. In addition, it will include all program materials, three breakout sessions, and three keynote sessions with nationally-renowned speaker and author Robert Pruitt (http://robertpruitt.com/).
