In response to the call for new service programs by the 125th Anniversary Committee and the Center for Service and Social Justice, the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) has “adopted” the George Bancroft Elementary School, located on Albright Avenue in Scranton. This school has been identified as having a large number of students in great need of even the most basic necessities.
Cold weather will soon arrive, and to help prepare the children for the change in weather, we will begin collecting new or gently used children’s sized coats, sweaters, gloves, scarves, and new socks. We will deliver these donated items to the school on November 15th. In addition, we will also collect school supplies (notebooks, backpacks, paper, pens, pencils, crayons, etc.) on an ongoing basis.
Items may be dropped off in ORSP, located on the 2nd floor of the IMBM. You may also contact Jamie Hayes at firstname.lastname@example.org or x6353 to have items picked up.
