Thursday, October 3, will mark the first in a series of monthly luncheon talks exploring our campus history and how we have become the University we are today. Our guest speaker, Jack Carling of Roaring Brook Township, has had a public service career that spanned over 50 years with various city and state related organizations. Jack was with the Scranton Redevelopment Authority when the ambitious University of Scranton urban renewal project was created in the late 1950s and early 1960s, allowing the University to relocate to its current campus location. Jack will share his firsthand stories of what the original vision for the project was and how the local leaders at the time imagined the University growing and prospering in its new “uptown” campus location.
The talk will take place at noon in the McDonnell Meeting Room on the fourth floor of the DeNaples Center. A light lunch will be served. Please RSVP to email@example.com
