In the coming weeks, The University of Scranton Players will conclude their 2012-2013 season with "Museum" by Tina Howe. Written in 1976, Howe’s play depicts the goings on, viewings and even works of art in a fictional museum.
In response, the Players are transforming the Royal Theatre into an art gallery. Displaying works that depict the arts in various forms, this production celebrates all the efforts of professionals and students in the University’s theatre department and questions the perception needed to see art. The story follows the lives of an eclectic group of museum-goers on the last day of exhibition, showing how even through the barriers of everyday life, we all can respond to and are transformed by art. First-time guest artist, director A. Bryan Humphrey, who is renowned for his work in education as well as with Shakespeare Festivals across the country, presents this hilarious and charming work.
The cast features Cillian Byrne, Cristin Carroll, Nicole Cobles, Holly Ference, Catherine Fischer, David Hunisch, Michael Kranick, Megan Lasky, Kiley Lotz, Joe McGurl, Bernadette Mick, Jeremiah Mullen, John Niemiec, James Pennington, Susan Pickup, Camille Reinecke, Xiomara Rolon and James Shygelski.
The production staff for "Museum" includes Richard Larsen, producer/set designer/lighting designer; Janice Tellier, costume designer; Conway Rowe, sound designer, Keri Irace, stage manager, and assistant stage managers Megan Esty and Brianna Kelley.
