The University of Scranton's College Democrats was awarded the Chapter of the Year Award by the Pennsylvania College Democrats at a convention at Penn State two week ago. Kyle Gleaves, president, and Elisa Guisto, vice president, were elected to serve on the executive board of the Pennsylvania College Democrats as membership director and finance director, respectively.
The College Democrats continued to be active over the weekend on April 13, exploring the historical sites in Philadelphia that played a prominent role in our nation's establishment. The trip was open to the student body and every spot was filled. Students explore Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross' house, Ben Franklin's grave, and other historical locations.
"It was an exciting day full of national pride and nostalgia," said Guisto. "It reminded us all how much we truly owe our Founding Fathers as well as other influential historical figures."
