The University of Scranton’s Judaic Studies program, along with the University Reading Series, will sponsor a presentation by award-winning poet Annie Kantar on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

Kantar will read from her translation of Israeli poet Leah Goldberg’s “With This Night” and will discuss Goldberg’s life and work. Goldberg, who received Israel’s highest honor, the Israeli Prize, also authored nine collections of poetry, three plays, three novels, a memoir, literary criticism, children’s stories, as well as translations of classical and modern writers.

The reading will be accompanied by a screening of Yair Qedar’s award-winning cinematic fantasy based on her life, “The Five Houses of Leah Goldberg.” The reading and screening will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Pearn Auditorium of Brennan Hall. The event is free and open to the public. For additional information, call 941-4291.
