During the Nonprofit and Community Assistance Center (NCAC) Community Awards Program held in late August, The University of Scranton’s Leahy Clinic for the Uninsured was recognized with an award in the "Health & Human Services Category." The NCAC Community Awards Program was established to highlight and acknowledge organizations that improve the quality of life within a seven-county region of northeastern Pennsylvania. The 2012 program was held on Aug. 30 at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel in Scranton. Laura Ducceschi, director and CEO of the Scranton Area Foundation, served as the keynote speaker, and 150 individuals attended.
