MONEY Magazine Recognizes Scranton Again

Nov 6, 2015

MONEY magazine included The University of Scranton on its national list of “10 Great Colleges You Can Apply to For Free.”

The list included prestigious institutions such as Wellesley College, Kenyon College and Case Western Reserve University. The University of Scranton was the only college in Pennsylvania and the only Jesuit school included.

The list was included in an article offering advice to students about cutting college application costs that was published in the November 2015 issue of MONEY.

The schools listed were also among MONEY’s “Best Colleges for your Money” ranking, published earlier this year. MONEY magazine assessed 21 factors related to a school’s academic quality, affordability and outcomes for that ranking.

In addition to MONEY, Scranton was also recognized for value recently by The Economist, which ranked the University No. 22 in the nation for boosting students’ “future salaries by the greatest amount.” The Brookings Institution also placed Scranton among the top 50 and top 100 colleges in the nation in two separate value reports examining the increase in annual earnings colleges contribute to its graduates.
