International Education Week Brings World to Area Elementary School Children

Students in grades 3 through 8 from Prescott Elementary School, St. Stanislaus Elementary School, The Lutheran Academy and the Howard Gardner School met with University of Scranton international students from Sweden to learn more about that country and its culture. The event was part of the University’s participation in International Education Week, a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. From left: Joseph Dreisbach, Ph.D., associate provost for academic affairs; Nikki Danielsson, an international student majoring in economics; Huey Shi Chew, director of international students and scholar services; and Linnea Krook, an international student majoring in economics. More than 120 international students representing 20 nations are studying at The University of Scranton.
