Fidelity Bank recently presented the University of Success at The University of Scranton with a $10,000 donation as part of the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC).

The EITC creates partnerships between parents, local businesses and scholarship organizations that allow funding to follow students; giving children and their families the opportunity for the best educational outcomes.

“We are honored to invest in the educational futures of children in our area through the University of Success program.” said Daniel J. Santaniello, president and chief executive officer at Fidelity Bank. “Thanks to partnerships with local businesses, like ours, this innovative program creates real opportunities for bright young people and makes higher education a reality.”

The University of Success is a pre-college program designed to develop the skills needed to successfully gain entrance to college and includes enrichment courses for students in study skills, SAT preparation, public speaking, math, science, art and cultural activities, as well as financial aid and wellness seminars. The program provides hands-on learning experiences and field trips designed to engage the students in creative thinking and abstract problem solving. Students begin the program as they enter 9th grade and are guided to successfully complete high school and gain entrance into a college or university.
