Empty Stocking Fund Benefit Concert on Sunday, December 14

The Scranton Brass Orchestra will perform the 14th Annual Empty Stocking Fund Benefit Concert on Sunday, Dec. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Houlihan-McLean Center at The University of Scranton. All who attend the benefit are asked to bring a new toy or article of children’s clothing, or a monetary donation.

Performance Music at The University of Scranton will present their 14th Annual Empty Stocking Fund Benefit Concert, featuring The Scranton Brass Orchestra, on Sunday, Dec. 14. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the University’s Houlihan-McLean Center. The event is open to the public, and all who attend the concert are asked to bring a new toy or article of children’s clothing, or a monetary donation. The collection will benefit children of local families in need this holiday season, through a collaboration with United Neighborhood Center’s Project Hope.

The evening will include performances of a variety of holiday favorites and an audience Christmas caroling sing-along.

The Scranton Brass Orchestra is a fully professional 27-member ensemble, founded in 2011 by co-directors/conductors Cheryl Y. Boga, director of Performance Music at the University, and Mark Gould, who are regular collaborators in a variety of musical ventures and venues, both performance and education oriented. Comprised of professional brass and percussion players and teachers from the region, the ensemble is sponsored and presented by The University of Scranton.
