University Joins AT&T’s Effort to End Texting and Driving

Drivers who read or send texts while behind the wheel are more likely to cause crashes – often leading to life changing injuries and deaths. To put an end to texting and driving, AT&T launched the It Can Wait campaign, of which The Univeristy of Scranton is proud to be a participant.

On Sept. 19, the It Can Wait campaign will hold an online “Drive 4 Pledges Day,” asking drivers to make a personal commitment not to text and drive, as well as recruiting others to do the same.

Drivers are asked to take the pledge online (; ask five other people to vow never to text and drive; and/or to share your pledge and what it means to you through your social media channels.

An example of a post follows.

“No text is worth a life. Join me and @ATT to take action against texting while driving. #ItCanWait.”
