Saudi Arabian Culture Celebrated at Festival

Oct 9, 2012

Area residents can get a taste of Saudi Arabia – literally – when The University of Scranton hosts a Saudi Festival on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 1 to 4 p.m.

This festival will highlight and celebrate Saudi customs and traditions. Activities planned include Saudi Arabian food, live musical performances and henna tattoos.  Participants can also get their pictures taken in Saudi clothes and learn to write their names in Arabic.

The Saudi Festival will occur on Founder’s Green in the 300 block of Madison Avenue on The University of Scranton’s campus.

The event is free of charge and open to the public. Free parking will be available for attendees in all campus lots.

The festival will correspond with a campus visit by Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission attaché from the Saudi embassy in Washington, D.C.

The Saudi student club at The University of Scranton organized the event with support from the University’s Provost Office, International Center and the Kania School of Management, among other departments.
