New Director Named at the SBDC at The University of Scranton

Lisa M. Hall has been named as the director of The University of Scranton’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The Scranton SBDC is one of 18 college-based centers in Pennsylvania and serves small businesses and entrepreneurs in Bradford, Lackawanna, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, Tioga, Wayne and Wyoming counties.

As director, Hall is responsible for planning, developing and implementing all programs offered by the SBDC; identifying resource requirements and strategies in the delivery of such programs and services; and securing and maintaining the funding necessary to accomplish program goals and objectives in an eight-county service area.

Before stepping into her new role, Hall, who resides in Waymart, served as both an educational program manager and business consultant at the SBDC and as an adjunct instructor in the University’s Kania School of Management.

Previously, she held several positions at Keystone College, La Plume, including adjunct instructor, coordinator of the Center for Excellence and Leadership/Kitchen Incubator, and administrative assistant to the vice president for development and college relations. She also served as development director and program manager at Junior Achievement of Northeastern Pennsylvania, Peckville.

Hall holds certifications in the areas of planning, instructing and administration, including Certified Program Planner (CPP) from the Learning Resources Network. She has held many volunteer positions during her career, currently serving as vice president, Leadership Lackawanna Board of Directors. She has received several awards and honors, ranging from Staff Member of the Year at Keystone College in 2002, to the Northeast Pennsylvania Business Journal “Top 20 Under 40” list in 2008, to the Leadership Lackawanna Alumni Leader of the Year in 2009.

Hall earned her associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in business administration from Keystone College, and her master’s degree in community leadership from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh.
