College Republicans and College Democrats Square Off in Debate

        The University of Scranton Debate Society will host a debate between the College Republicans and the College Democrats regarding the economy, the environment and Afghanistan. The debate, which is open to the public, free of charge, will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. in the Rose Room of Brennan Hall.

        The event will be a quick-moving, advocate (courtroom) style debate. In this type of the debate, two representatives from each club will be able to question three “expert” representatives from the opposing club on issues related to the economy, the environment and Afghanistan. The opposing club will also have a chance to redirect.

        The debate is expect to last about an hour and will be taped for broadcast on Oct. 30 on WUSR, The University of Scranton’s radio station.
