University of Scranton Appoints Executive Assistant and Chief of Staff to the President

         The University of Scranton has named Thomas MacKinnon as the executive assistant and chief of staff to the president. MacKinnon will assist The University of Scranton President Rev. Scott R. Pilarz, S.J., in the planning and implementation of both long and short term goals, as well as the execution of daily management priorities. 

        MacKinnon served as the executive director of Scranton's Pride, Passion, Promise Campaign. The $100,000,000 capital campaign is the largest in The University of Scranton's history. Prior to his being named executive director, MacKinnon served the university as an onsite fund-raising management consultant.

         MacKinnon previously served as senior consultant and vice president of Community Counseling Service (CCS), planning and directing multi-million dollar fund-raising programs for several non-profit organizations.  He also served as director of alumni and publication relations for Canisius High School, Buffalo, N.Y. He served as a volunteer administrator, teacher and project coordinator at the Working Boys Center, a Jesuit-run facility in Quito, Equador.

        Mackinnon earned a bachelor's degree in English literature from Fordham University.
