The University of Scranton Announces New Program Coordinator

            The University of Scranton has appointed Tashika Smith as program coordinator in the Office of Multicultural Affairs. Smith's responsibilities include enhancing multicultural awareness and education among students, faculty and staff.  She will be responsible for facilitating programs and workshops focusing on cultural awareness and differences.

            A resident of Wilkes-Barre, Smith has previously served in various higher education positions in the areas of multicultural affairs, multicultural academic support services, career services, and housing and residence life.

            Smith earned a master's degree in higher education and leadership policies from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, Va. She obtained her bachelor's degree in English with certification in the area of ethnic studies from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Fla.
