A portion of the $2,000 raised from a 24-hour volleyball marathon, organized by The University of Scranton’s Physical Therapy Club, was donated to Hope for Haiti, a non-profit organization that supports education, nutrition and healthcare for Haitian people. More than 150 students participated in the fund raiser, which also supported physical therapy research for Muscular Dystrophy, Cystic Fibrosis and Spinal Muscular Atrophy. At the donation presentation are, from left, Debra Pellegrino, Ed.D., dean of the Panuska College of Professional Studies, JoAnn Kuehner, president of Hope for Haiti, Efosa Guobadia, a student in the doctor of physical therapy program and president of the Physical Therapy Club, and John Sanko, Ed.D., associate professor and chair of the Physical Therapy Department.
