University of Scranton Announces Three Appointments

The University of Scranton has announced the appointment of two new vice presidents, and a new director of corporate and foundation relations for development.

Gerald C. Zaboski, West Wyoming, has been appointed vice president for alumni and public relations. Zaboski joined The University of Scranton in 1988, serving as the first editor of The Scranton Record, and later became the assistant manager for university publications in addition to his role as editor. From 1992-2000, he served as the assistant and later executive assistant to the president. In 2001, Zaboski was named director of public relations and publications.

Prior to joining The University of Scranton staff, Zaboski served as public information manager for the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce. He earned both a bachelor of science and a master of science degree from The University of Scranton.

His professional affiliations include serving on the Executive Committee of Jesuit Advancement Administrators and as a member of the Communications Advisory Council of the Association of Jesuit Universities and Colleges.
 
Zaboski is a member of the board and executive committee of the Scranton-Lackawanna Human Development Agency, and of Wyoming Hose Company #1, for which he is treasurer.

Rev. Terrence J. Devino, S.J., Scranton, has been named vice president for university ministries. Fr. Devino joined the university in 2006 as the assistant vice president for university ministries.  He is responsible for the leadership and management of the university’s campus ministry, the International Service Program and the Community Outreach Office.

Fr. Devino is a member of the New England Province of the Society of Jesus. Prior to joining The University of Scranton community, he spent three years as an associate chaplain in campus ministry at Fairfield University. He also worked as a patient and family relations representative in Boston, Mass., at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, and assistant director of the Jesuit Urban Center. Previously, he served as an associate pastor for three parishes in Springfield, Mass.
 
Fr. Devino holds a bachelor of arts degree from Worcester State College, a master of divinity degree from the School of Theology and Pastoral Ministry at Seton Hall University, and a certificate in spiritual direction from the Center for Religious Development, Cambridge, Mass.

Lisa A. Baumann, also of Scranton, has been named director of corporate and foundation relations for development.
 
Before joining the university’s staff, Baumann was proprietor of a consulting business. She has extensive experience researching and writing grant applications and working with grant-funded initiatives at the local, state and federal levels.
 
Previously, she was executive director of Healthy Northeast Access for four years, three of which were at The University of Scranton in its Center for Public Initiatives.

Baumann is involved in many community activities. She was named an Outstanding Program Volunteer for the March of Dimes, and was chosen as a Scranton Times Northeast Pennsylvania Woman.

She earned a bachelor of science degree from Indiana University, and a master of health administration degree from The University of Scranton.
