Alumnae/i Weddings at Madonna della Strada Chapel

Weddings_6cover.jpg

As a Catholic chapel within the Diocese of Scranton, The University of Scranton has been granted permission to host Roman Catholic weddings for alumnae/i of the University. Campus Ministries welcomes the celebration of the Sacrament of Marriage provided that either the bride or groom is a fully-initiated Catholic (having received Baptism, First Eucharist, and Confirmation) and has graduated from the University. Weddings are held in Madonna della Strada Chapel and in accord with regulations of the Catholic Church.
Wedding Book
Everything about the wedding ceremony witnesses to all those present the understanding that the couple is entering a sacred and holy union - a sacrament. Therefore, everything about the service calls for careful planning that will contribute to this understanding. Please download the University Wedding Planning Guide  to help with answering questions about having your wedding ceremony at your alma mater. After reading this guide - especially the initial check-off list on p. 3-4 - please email Dr. Helen Wolf, Executive Director of the Office of Campus Ministries, with your class year, as well as a proposed date and time for the ceremony. This will help determine if Madonna della Strada Chapel is available.

We recognize and affirm the importance of the Sacrament of Marriage. We are happy to journey with our alumnae/i in preparing for this very special occasion. Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns.
