Gillian Naro

Major:   I am a psychology and philosophy double major

Year: I am a senior, member of the class of 2012

Hometown: Southampton, PA

Activities:   In addition to research, I'm a member of the University of Scranton Special Jesuit Liberal Arts Honors Program, a Teaching Assistant, Resident Assistant,  member of the Women’s Crew Team all four years, an  officer for United Students for Fair Trade club, work study student, and retreat leader.  I am also very interested in service both domestic and international and  have participated in the International Service Program to El Salvador, Habitat for Humanity alternative spring break trip to Miami, Fl, and I am in preparation for an upcoming service trip to Uganda, Africa this winter.  I also spent the spring of 2011 semester abroad in Florence, Italy.

Future Plans:   I am currently looking for graduate programs that satisfy my interest in international affairs and psychology.  I hope to begin research on therapy techniques  for those (specifically children) affected by international disaster.  I also plan on continuing my service activities both throughout and post graduate education.

Research:   I began assisting Dr. Nolan in the Conservation Psychology Lab fall of 2010.
