The photochemistry of trifluoronitrosomethane in an inert gas matrix was investigated using infrared spectroscopy. Fourier Transform IR spectra of CF3NO in argon, krypton, nitrogen, and oxygen at temperatures ranging from 12 to 36 K and high vacuum conditions, on the order of 10^-6 torr, were taken. The system was exposed to laser irradiation (He/Ne and diode) and UV photolysis over various time and temperature increments. Analysis of the spectra indicate the formation of a trans-diazoxy photodimer, (CF3NO)2. This structure differs from one characterized by Mason , and is supported by work done by Glaser et al., and Shurvell .
