Reilly Learning Commons

Reilly Learning Commons

The Reilly Learning Commons is an interactive space with high end technology, group study rooms and areas designed to enhance collaboration. The Learning Commons houses a lecture capture room to practice presentations and record them digitally, an audio recording room, two writing center offices, twenty-five computers, and six iMacs.

The renovated space was named in honor of Joseph, Katherine "Kay" '53 and Evelyn Reilly '52, whose gifts have made the Learning Commons in the Weinberg Memorial Library possible. The siblings have had a deep commitment of service to the University for more than 50 years.

The Learning Commons has 5 group study rooms that seat 5-7 students, include a white board wall, and a 52” monitor that can display laptop and tablet computers. To reserve a group study room in the Learning Commons, visit https://groupstudy.library.scranton.edu/reserve/floor_1. Always reserve a room, even if you find one empty, to let others know it is taken.

Two additional study rooms house the Writing Center, but may be reserved when they are not providing tutoring. These two rooms each have a PC.

There are 4 lounge seating collaboration areas, "pods," that also include a 52-inch monitor with laptop and table adaptors. The "pods" are first come first serve. The 4 "pods" and 5 group study rooms are Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) or you may check out laptops or iPads from the circulation desk.
