New Location And Easier Access For Curriculum Resource Collection

Education students who wanted to find classroom aids or teacher's manuals for preparing unit or lesson plans for methods classes and student teaching previously used the curriculum lab on the sixth floor of O'Hara Hall. Now these students can find the same materials on the fourth floor of the new Library. This move has greatly increased the hours of availability and the security of the collection.

Approximately 3,000 titles were transferred to the fourth floor of the Library. These study guides, textbooks and resource manuals are located on two ranges of shelving preceding the ''L" call number. A portion of the collection has been entered in the Online Public Catalog and can be accessed by traditional title, author, subject, or keyword searching. They may be identified by the location code EDLAB rather than the usual STK or REF location that denotes circulating or reference hooks. You may borrow the materials for the same four-week loan period as other library items.

The remaining books are currently grouped by subject matter in the same shelving area and are being cataloged. Faculty in the Education Department are currently purchasing new titles to add to the Curriculum Materials Collection.
